It has been said that the Psalms placed as they are within the construct of the Psalter are like a beautiful garden. On the one hand, there are points along the way to stop and appreciate the individual beauty of any given Psalm. While on the other hand, by zooming out and gaining a bird’s eye view you see the orderly layout of the garden that highlights and centers the beauty of the place for those who will visit. In our summer study of the Psalms we will certainly stop and smell the roses of individual Psalms, but in this study we will be giving special attention to the lay out of the garden in order to better discern its message.
