Fellowship with God's People

Fellowship with God's People

Recently, in chapel at my school, the pastor said, “We are most like God when we love other people.” That really left an impact on me and I think that statement is very important. In 1 John 4:7-8 it says, "Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”

I want to share how God has been at work in my life recently. This year, I started high school at South Christian and I was really nervous after only being home schooled until now. I tend to keep to myself and with being very introverted (video game nerd alert!), the idea of going to a new place with a lot of people I didn’t know was very daunting. However, God has been present in many ways. I have felt so much kindness from my classmates and my teachers. I’ve honestly been surprised at how visibly I see the love of Christ in my school. I also have been surrounded with love and care by my church family. Christ Church has been a safe place for us and that has been life-giving. In this last year, we’ve had a lot of struggles with my older brother, Isaac, who has severe autism and is non-verbal and it has made it more difficult for us to care for him. In the midst of this, the church has come alongside us and helped us carry our burdens. We really appreciate the love from our church family, and for me personally, it has been such a tangible example of Jesus. The fellowship that God and other Christians offer is so beautiful.

I feel so blessed to grow up in this body where people constantly support and encourage me in my faith. I hope that you also find that Christ Church is a place where the fellowship is rich and God’s love reigns.
