The Meaning of Marriage

For Married and Singles

If you think the secret to marriage is beyond comprehension – you’re almost right. For the Bible describes it as a “profound mystery”. Miriam Engler, with Bob Engler, a panel of couples and singles, will explore the meaning and mystery of marriage. These sessions will present a theology of marriage and consider “spiritual friendship” as it applies to marriage and singleness.

The class format will include teaching, largely based on Tim Keller’s book, The Meaning of Marriage , and a panel discussing questions from the class.

Poetry in Commotion

Understanding the Psalms

Understanding the poetry of the Psalms will enrich our “singing” of these songs and encourage us to use them in all the diverse circumstances and commotions of our life. This interactive class, led by Steve Holladay, will consider the imagery, rhythm, and structure of the poetry, as well as, how to apply the Psalms.

First Things

Dig into the core purpose, personality, and feel the pulse of Christ Church. Explore the essentials of Christian faith and practice, including some major themes such as creation, the fall, redemption and salvation and how that all relates to the “church”. This informal setting, led by Walter Lorenz is for inquirers, those considering membership, and those needing a refresher course on church.

Sermon Response Class

There is no better way to process and apply the sermon than to discuss it with others while it is still fresh in your mind. Don and Sherry Levy lead this discussion-oriented class.
